Manual Installation / Uninstallation

Note: Windows installation instructions using the automated installer are also available.

Linux Manual Install Instructions

  1. Download the appropriate manual install file (.zip) file for the module you purchased.
  2. Unpack the file to your Neverwinter Nights directory using the command:
    unzip modulename.zip
  3. The directory structure will be preserved and the module should require no further installation.

Windows Manual Install Instructions

Warning: If you are a Windows user it is recommended that you first attempt to install using the (.exe) windows installer file. Read the Windows installation instructions. Be aware that the manual install is slightly more complex than using the automated installer and is recommended for advanced users only.

  1. Download and extract the appropriate manual install (.zip) file (using a tool like WinZip) to your core Neverwinter Nights directory. By default, this is: C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN
  2. The directory structure will be preserved and the module should require no further installation.

Kingmaker Manual Uninstall Instructions

Note: Use these instructions to uninstall a BioWare premium module that has been manually installed.

  1. Remove mus_dd_kingmaker.bmu from the music folder.
  2. Remove Neverwinter Nights - Kingmaker.nwm from the nwm folder.
  3. Remove dd_km_credits.bik and premiumdemo.bik from the movies folder.
  4. Remove KMEULA.txt from the docs folder.
  5. Remove KMTiles.hak, kmvo.hak, and Neverwinter Nights - Kingmaker.hak from the hak folder.
  6. Remove How Do I Play.txt, Neverwinter Nights - Kingmaker, Store and Support from the premium folder.

ShadowGuard Manual Uninstall Instructions

Note: Use these instructions to uninstall a BioWare premium module that has been manually installed.

  1. Remove mus_dd_shadowgua.bmu and mus_dd_witchwake.bmu from the music folder.
  2. Remove Neverwinter Nights - ShadowGuard.nwm and Neverwinter Nights - Witch's Wake.nwm from the nwm folder.
  3. Remove dd_sg_credits.bik, premiumdemo.bik and dd_ww_credits.bik from the movies folder.
  4. Remove SGEULA.txt, WW1EULA.txt from the docs folder.
  5. Remove WW1EULA.txt, ww1vo.hak, and Neverwinter Nights - Witch's Wake.hak from the hak folder.
  6. Remove How Do I Play.txt, Neverwinter Nights - ShadowGuard, Store and Support from the premium folder.

Kingmaker Lite Uninstall Instructions

Note: Use these instructions to uninstall a BioWare premium module that has been manually installed.

  1. Remove mus_dd_kingmaker.bmu from the music folder.

  2. Remove Neverwinter Nights - Pirates of the Sword Coast.nwm from the nwm folder.
  3. Remove premiumdemo.bik from the movies folder.
  4. Remove PotSCEULA.txt and PotSCCredits.txt from the docs folder.
  5. Remove potsc_resources.hak and Neverwinter Nights - Pirates of the Sword Coast.hak from the hak folder.
  6. Remove How Do I Play.txt, Neverwinter Nights - Pirates of the Sword Coast, Store and Support from the premium folder.

Infinite Dungeons Manual Uninstall Instructions

Note: Use these instructions to uninstall a BioWare premium module that has been manually installed.

  1. Remove mus_dd_infdun.bmu from the music folder.
  2. Remove Neverwinter Nights - Infinite Dungeons.nwm from the nwm folder.
  3. Remove premiumdemo.bik from the movies folder.
