How to Install and Play Downloadable PC Games

Please carefully read the Jade Empire End User License Agreement before clicking the "I agree" radio button and then clicking the "I agree" button.

To prevent any potential conflicts while installing please shut down all other running programs. When this is done click the Next button to continue installing.

Enter the BioWare Community Username and Password you purchased the downloadable game with and click Next.

Choose an install folder for your purchased downloadable game. Please make yourself familiar with the space requirements for the installation. When you are satisfied with the installation location click Next.

Choose a Start Menu folder for your downloadable game installation. There is also an option to not create a Start Menu folder. When satisfied with your selection click Next.

Choose to create a Windows Shortcut on your desktop, on the Quick Launch toolbar or in both locations. If no selection is made, neither a Desktop nor Quick Launch toolbar will be created. When satisfied with your selection click Next.

The required data for your downloadable PC Game installation will now be downloaded. Note the % complete, speed (kbytes/sec), and the approximate time remaining.

Note that you can select to have the installation continue after the download completes. This will allow the installation of your downloadable PC Game to complete unattended.
If you did not select to have the installation Continue installing after download completes simply click Next to continue.

The digital game installation process might continue for some time. During this time do not click the Cancel button if you wish the installation to complete successfully.

You might be prompted to delete any remaining Downloaded Installation Files. Clicking Yes will leave the files in your game installation directory in a folder marked dl. Clicking No will free up hard drive space on your installation drive.

When the installation process has completed click Next to continue.

From this screen you can choose to Run your installed game, View Readme.txt and/or Finish the installation. When you have checked your selection click Finish.

If you chose to Run your newly installed game you will now see an auto-run or launcher screen. Click Play to continue.

Your purchased Downloadable PC Game must be activated online before it can be played. After the initial activation there is no further requirement to re-activate online unless the game is installed or there are significant hardware changes on your PC.

To activate your product enter the Registration Code for your purchased Downloadable PC Game. The Registration Code can be found on your BioWare Store Receipt. To access it simply log into your BioWare Online Store account and click the Store Receipts link.

After the activation process is complete click Start to launch the game.

On the first run of your digital game the Configuration Utility will launch and gather system information on your PC to help determine optimal game settings.

Clicking any of the headings under System (in this case Summary) will display its associated information.

When satisfied with the selected settings click the game title button on the menu bar (in this case Jade Empire) and select Save Settings. When that is done click File and Exit to exit the Configuration Utility.

Your Downloaded PC Game will now launch.
