After the game has been successfully installed you will be required to enter the Game CD Key listed on your BioWare Store reciept.

1.02: Why do I need to enter the BioWare Community username I purchased the game with during the game's installation and download process? (Back to Top)

Your purchase of Jade Empire: Special Edition is associated with the BioWare Community account you were logged into the BioWare Online Store with at the time of purchase.

1.03: During installation I enter my username and then get an error message stating that I haven't bought the game? (i.e. "Product Not Owned by Account") (Back to Top)

If you have purchased the game and are receiving the above message it is likely that you are entering a different BioWare Community account username then you purchased the module with.

1.04: I've finished pre-loading Jade Empire: SE, why can't I start playing? (Back to Top)

The pre-load process allows you to download a large portion of the game data before the actual release date. Once the game has been released you will be notified by email and asked to download a small amount of additional data before you can begin playing.

1.05: I'm not connected to the internet, why can't I finish installing and playing the digital version of Jade Empire: Special Edition? (Back to Top)

The digital version of Jade Empire: Special Edition requires that a user is connected to the internet to download the game, that they verify their BioWare community account during the installation process and that they enter their Game CD Key for verification the first time the game is launched.

This message will appear if a user is attempting to install the game using a corrupted installer. In this case please re-download the game installer.

In rare cases where the SecuROM online activation process fails, you will be promped to enter an "Unlock Code".

To obtain your "Unlock Code" please send the following information to: storesupport@bioware.com with the subject line "Jade Empire: SE - Manual Activation".

Check to make sure that the installer isn't simply verifying the download. If it is indeed re-downloading, is it downloading the files to a new location than the original install path? If so, then cancel the download, say "no" to remove the wrong download, re-install and select the original location you downloaded to.

This has to do with running the installer in one language (i.e. English) on an operating system that is in another language (i.e. German), and the Jade Empire Auto-Run is attempting to use the default Operating System Language as the game installation language. The installer then “forgets” that it is only one language and then tries the operating system’s language. However as there aren’t any installation files for the operating system’s language it doesn’t install properly and displays a required disk space message of 0.00 GB.

The workaround for this issue is to not use the Auto-Run and launch the Jade Empire: SE installer "Setup.exe" directly from the disk. One can do this by right clicking on your PC's DVD-ROM drive when Jade Empire: SE is in the drive and choosing "Explore". The contents of the Jade Empire: SE disk will then appear, at which point all you need to do is double click on "Setup.exe" to launch the installer.

The art book, manual and poster bundled with the digital version of Jade Empire: SE can be found in the "docs" directory of your Jade Empire: SE installation. The path for this location is usually C:\Program Files\Jade Empire\docs
